Fixed Implant Denture
For those patients who have suffered ill-fitting dentures or mobile, failing teeth for years, the provision of stable, comfortable, natural-looking teeth through dental implants can restore that self-confidence and vitality that has often been lost.

-
Patients who have previously lost their own teeth and currently wear dentures.
-
Patients who need to have their remaining teeth removed and are faced with the prospect of wearing dentures.
With this treatment, the temporary teeth are attached to the implants, so patients can be free from their dentures, usually within 24 hours of implant placement. Once the healing period is complete and the implants have integrated with the bone, a high-quality, durable, metal-reinforced fixed permanent denture is fitted.
Benefits of Fixed Denture Treatment
This treatment can offer patients:
-
A full arch (one jaw) or two full arches (both jaws) of fixed replacement teeth.
-
The placement of four to six dental implants at strategic positions and angles to support a ten-tooth denture.
At Geist Oral & Facial Surgery, we appreciate that our patients have busy lives, and we aim to minimize disruption to day-to-day life. The fixed denture solutions that we help provide prevent our patients from having to go without teeth, allowing them to carry on with their lives as normal. Active professional and personal lives need not suffer; as appointments are minimized, so is post-procedure discomfort.
We have seen what a difference this technique has made to so many of our patients’ lives. The sheer relief of being free from dentures or unhealthy, loose teeth is written all over their faces; their elated smiles say it all!
Fixed Denture Treatment Can Benefit Patients Who:
-
Are faced with failing teeth due to gum disease or failing bridgework, whose only other option is to wear dentures.
-
Are unable to go without teeth during implant treatment.
-
Currently wear upper and/or lower dentures.
-
Are unable to tolerate dentures.
-
Suffer from low self-confidence because of movement of dentures while talking or eating.
-
Feel limited with foods they can easily chew.
-
May otherwise require bone augmentation; fixed denture techniques can usually eliminate the need for this.
We understand that the investment in dental implant treatment is significant, and the decision to proceed with treatment is not made lightly. Our patients have found the cost to be a worthwhile investment in a fixed, long-term solution.
Careful surgical and restorative planning is essential for ensuring effective, reliable implant placement. All options are considered and discussed thoroughly to ensure that the patient is happy and comfortable to proceed. Collaboration with our lab, our patients’ restoring doctors, and our dental implant representatives results in the ability to offer fully inclusive prices for fixed implant-supported denture treatment.
